Wait 'till you see what's happened to Mickey!
Many thanks to ActionCity for inviting me to their premium gallery, BLAXK, to enjoy the exclusive launch preview of Disney x ActionCity's Mickey Jiangshi!
The launch was a treat for the senses and for the uninitiated, Jiangshi are zombie like creatures that were popularised in classic Hong Kong movies back in the day.
Although they're often referred to as Chinese hopping vampires, they don't drink blood like the vampires we're used to in the west.
Instead they're typically reanimated zombies that feature a scroll, a talisman on their foreheads, which allow Taoist priests to control their actions, usually with the aim of trying to give them a proper burial.
They move by hopping and can absorb the essence of the living so best not to get too close to them!
Thanks to local Singaporean sculptor, Daniel Yu, everyone's favourite mouse has gone to the dark side!
Introducing the unimaginably scary Mickey Jiangshi!
But that's not all, there were also scary reimagined versions of our fave Marvel characters too!
Of course, there were also some traditional Jiangshi lurking in the shadows too!
